Getting Ready for the Season

Delighted to report that a seagull has deposited a large dollop of fishy poo on my car roof - only a fool cleans his car before the Emperor season...

I have a lovely new bright red Fiesta.....no way I'm going to leave poo on it.
However, I'm very excited about another new bait: Surstromming from Sweden. It is herring which is allowed to decay before being sealed in tins; apparently the smell when you open a tin is to die for [literally!]. I'm taking delivery of a tin next week. Footnote: the Swedes actually eat this stuff.

People have died eating that!!Iris must be made of stronger stuff. Last year at Bentley some guy put something similar on the ground to attract HIM down only for a dog to eat it while his back was turned .The ensuing argument between the guy and the dogs owner was laughable .

Surstromming was trialled in Fermyn Woods in 2008 with disastrous results: Iris stopped flying...
